Questions about rivalries
Just a couple questions about rivalries:
1. Do rivalries develop on their own over time as I play through a league or do I have to assign them? 2. What is the difference between a "main rival" and a "potential rival" as far as this game is concerned? 3. I'm thinking of assigning a few rivals in my fictional league based on geography (similar to the Rangers/Islanders or the Penguins/Flyers). Would I assign them as "main" or "potential" rivals? 4. What does the rivalry change number do? Thanks. |

They'll develop on their own.
The Main Rival is the team's primary rival, and games with them have more significance than against the Potential Rival. The Potential Rival can, eventually, swap places with the Main Rival if events lead to the main rivalry fading and/or the potential one becoming more intense, but until then it won't be quite as important to the team as the main rivalry. The rivalry change number indicates how far along in that process it is, 4 = on the verge of becoming the main rivalry, 1 = could easily be replaced by a new rivalry with another team. I would probably start those fictional league ones as main rivalries, that'll keep them intact longer. |
