How to manage Minor leagues best?
What are the best ways to ensure I get my talent to progress and improve? Obviously there's no such thing as a sure thing, but how do I maximize everything to make it the best possible chance?
Player Development Budget? Should I make sure I don't have guys who are 25+ with no real chance at a majors shot clog up the system? When should I promote players, and should I promote them myself? Anything you guys got for me? This is a no coaches league. |

If you have the coaches set up your lineups, make sure that favor potential is selected over ability in the settings. I think the key is to keep a regular sized roster at each level; I do 26. A true prospect should never ride the bench. Either promote who's blocking him, cut him, or force start. Only promote when ready. I use WAR a lot when making a decision. In my opinion, if you have to demote a player, He's done as a prospect.
You want to keep filler players on your team even if they have no chance at the majors. You want to be able to have guys at their appropriate level rather than rushing them up because you cut all the old guys at AAA. You also want to win to keep players happy. Have some old vets with great leadership and work ethic in the minors. As far as the budget, anything above the baseline is fine. Don't worry about it too much. Just pump excess money there and you will be fine. But don't choose excess development budget over extending your ML players. I would promote guys yourself. I don't like the way the AI does it. I hope this helps.
