Best way to start the Historical/Fictional League
I am thinking of starting a Historical League (Starting in 1901, with the real teams, all the expansions, realistic # of HRs, strikeouts etc) but with the fictional players.
To my knowledge, the best way to start it probably is 1. Start the historical league in 1901 2. Release all the players and kill 'em all 3. Erase all the history, records, etc 4. Generate the fictional players 5. Set the amature draft so that the fictional players keep coming in to the league (Not the real players) 6. Set the auto-expansion to On My questions to the players who have tried out the league like this are, 1. Is the Player creation realistic? (If not, is there a way/proper settings to make it more realistic?) 2. Is it possible to start such a league, NOT WITH HISTORICAL set up, but with FICTIONAL set up? I mean, I do not really care about the accurate league expansions, team names according to the history etc. I just want to have a 1901~2008 history built up before I take over a team by myself. I want the league championship teams, MVPs, ROYs, league leaders etc in my league, but the history does not have to have the real structural changes, if you know what I mean... I was wondering if I could just start my fictional league at 1901, check all the modifiers so that the game will import the financial/player creation/league total adjustment year after year, to build the realistic league history. I know it's been discussed many times, but I can not find THE thread where I can find the best way to set the league up. I wish somebody could tell me the usuful threads, or let me know how I should create my league kindly.

I've had problems with fictional historicals where the modifiers in the game setup under strategy get majorly messed up from sac bunts being at .251 or starting pitcher endurance being at 22900868. So I'd recommend keeping an eye on the modifiers each season if you select the option to import the modifiers for historical accuracy each year.

Also you do not need to have the draft enabled as there was no draft in the early years of MLB. The game will generate free agent players.

I am not going to be strict about how the drafts were done or how the FA came in to the league etc. I just wanna build the history before really get it going, with some "era" feelings according to the real history, if you know what I mean. I thought I saw the thread in which people discussed about the historical fictional set ups, but just can't find it...
