PABF.NET Opens its doors!

The Pan American Baseball Federation is a fictional 16 team league that will begin play in 2008.

I currently belong to 3 great ootp online leagues, the ABA, ACL & HHBC, and am starting a league of my own. I am an active owner in those leagues and look for the same kind of dedication for the PABF.

Currently 4 of the 16 teams are taken:
San Juan Crusaders
New Haven/New York Ninjas
Las Vegas Sandbaggers
Louisville Bats
additional cities/teams can be owner defined (subject to commish approval)

League Settings:
-16 teams (4x4)
-Financials will be used
-Coaches Off
-once the franchises are set, we will draft/name our own stadiums from of a selection of 31

Some nice features of the PABF:
*automated draft board
*team stat graphs (as seen in the (ABA & ACL)
*sortable team stat tables (as seen in the HHBC,ABA & ACL)
*draft kit will be created/provided to aid team in making the initial draft go smoothly

Additional Info:
5 seasons have been simmed (2003-2007) by comp to create a initial draft pool of 900 players with a varied range of experience and ratings. So, for the initial draft players will be able to be evaluated by ratings and stats. For example: Do you draft the 34 year 2 time MVP or 25 year old top prospect?

Thanks,
alvaman

I am in the ABA (Ft. Worth Roadrunners) and have seen alavaman's extracurricular work first hand. It is first rate!

Good luck with the league venture!

I'm interested in joining...

I've bought OOTP a few weeks ago and have been completely addicted to this game... it is so awesome! I think I am getting a hang of the nuances, and I would like to try out for your new league. Your league sounds perfect for what I'm looking for. If you don't mind a rookie, I would like to be in.

Let me add to the others by saying I think this will be a top notch league. Manny is one of the most dedicated owners out there, and I expect nothing less from him as a commish.

His statistical analysis add-ons are first rate, as well as his commitment to starting this league. He has discussed the league with me on several occasions, and it is something he has been thinking about, planning and working on implementing for a long time.

I wish I had the time to join another league, because this would be the one. The automated draft board & draft kit for the player dispersal that Manny created should make this the smoothest-run initial draft ever.

As a Commish an owner like Manny is a wonderful thing to have. I would highly reccomend him and any league he would create. I have no doubts this will be a top of the line league . Anyone that is considering joining a league right now should seriously consider looking into this league. Openings should be hard to come by once its filled .This looks to be a great opportunity !!

wow, it's always a good start to have plenty of veterans praise the league before it even gets off the ground.

Not really praising the league--praising the man.

Manny is one hell of an owner and his knowledge of the game is tops!!

This HAS to be a great league judging by all the things he's added to the ABA!

Hey, the bottom line is that this is by *far* the best OOTP league out there that doesn't actually exist yet.

The PABF is now full!

Based on all the responses for the league openings we decided to start with 20 teams instead of 16.

Here are the 2008 PABF Franchises:
NORTHEASTERN TEAMS
Louisville Bats
New Jersey Warriors
Washington Federals
Carolina Conquest
New York Ninjas

NORTHWESTERN TEAMS
Vancouver Vipers
Edmonton Huskies
Chicago Zephyrs
California Dragons
Lincoln Abes

SOUTHEASTERN TEAMS
Santo Domingo Admirals
Miami Renegades
Havana Sugar Kings
Memphis Knights
San Juan Crusaders

SOUTHWESTERN TEAMS
Las Vegas Sandbaggers
Mexico City Matadors
Texas Lonestars
New Orleans Mudcats
Arizona Outlaws

It looks like we have a great core of owners who will help make the PABF a good solid league for many seasons.

Thanks to everyone who applied! Also thanks Matt, Scott, Mark. Bob, Michael E,
Ben, and Michael T for the boost in this thread.

Now the real work begins
