Free agent demand really low randomly-bug report

Hello, 2 seasons in a row I have had a former MVP asking for 12 mil/yr (no screenshot of this) easily accepted my offer, not sure any other teams offered.

This year there is the most recent MVP (Jac Caglianone) asking for 16 million/year (screenshot hopefully added) financials untouched from base settings and other worse FAs asking for 50 mil +

I would love to see what you are seeing. My league is overrun by huge contracts, some to people I can't understand. Evidently the computer controlled teams got into bidding wars.

Do either one of those players have pitching ratings that might make them borderline candidates for use as a 2-way player?

Yes they both have 30-40 ish on the 80 scale for pitching attributes. Is this a known issue? apologies if so, skipped 26 and don't go on forums

Yeah, there are still cases of borderline 2-way guys not getting valued properly.


I usually just edit down the pitching ratings of those guys to completely get rid of the possibility of being seen as a 2-way player anymore.

I'm getting this too, are the devs aware that superstar players are going for contracts in the low millions?

I think this has been an issue with two-way players for years now, or really anyone with high enough ratings in their non-natural position. I think the game sometimes "averages" between batter and pitcher value instead of "adding" together which would make more sense.

Absent any other similar reports (which we haven't really seen yet afaik), I would check your league's finances and default salaries, to make sure something didn't accidently get reset here.

If this looks ok, then please do upload the league files so we can take a look.

What do you mean you haven't seen "any other similar reports"? Multiple people are posting about seeing this bug in this thread.

If you don't believe there's a bug with fringe two-way players, you can replicate it yourself pretty easily. Start a fresh, 2025 offseason start, don't touch the finances. Ask Pete Alonso what he wants for a contract, he'll say something along the lines of $50 million. Go into commissioner mode and edit his pitching ratings to give him a 100 stamina, 200 fastball, 200 slider, 200 curveball, 200 raw movement, and 200 control. Ask him what he wants again. He'll say something along the lines of $10 million.

It should be obvious that taking a star power-hitting first baseman and giving him the ability to pitch badly does not make him worth less, and it certainly doesn't make him worth $40 million less. It seems likely this is the source of the bug I and others have encountered where star hitters with bad but not non-existent pitching ratings drastically undervalue themselves.

Yeah, obviously with the two-way guys there is a bug we'll take a look at.
