Selling this as primarily an anti-tanking system is a bit cheeky. It's blatant that it's primary effect is significantly reducing what a lot of honest, decent players will earn in rewards going up through the leagues for the first time. Compared to previous versions of PT, it's like a fun tax.
YankeeCpt's experience seems like a good example of the system working badly. |

I notice that you still have not stated what your record was that got you this "super promotion" despite having been asked. I had my suspicions that it was EXTREMELY good and that you were probably gaming the system for your own fun. My theory is that you put your scrubs in for the championship series? I admit that I very well could be wrong, but you did post in a different thread that you "flamed" your championship series. So, at the very least, it's suspicious.
Now, whether or not you were gaming the system doesn't really matter. What you seem to be failing to understand is that this super promotion system, while probably not perfect, is trying to protect the integrity of the game. Even if you weren't gaming the system, if your record was so good it deserved the super promotion, think of it from the viewpoint of the other players in your league. Yeah....sure....YOU had fun crushing the opposition with a 132-30 record (totally made up cuz you won't say what it was), but what about the guy in 2nd place who had a 95 win season doing it the right way and still ended up 20 games back? How much fun do you think he had? I think rburgh said it perfectly when he said... but.....you should NOT be allowed to make the game a living hell for someone else just so you could have fun with your "fake team".
