Leo Devries is a 102?!?

Come on guys, seriously? .856 OPS at LANSING warrants this?

I’m not a huge fan of the Future Legend cards, but in this case you’re talking about a guy who’s mashing at High-A as an 18-year-old. For context, Bobby Witt Jr. wasn’t playing professionally at any level at 18. De Vries is proving he can hang in a league where he’s four years younger than the average player… that’s not nothin’. In fact, it looks like he’s actually been called up to AA, where the average age is 24. While Elli Willits is a stretch for sure (but all these FL cards are just fantasy cards), De Vries has actually done some things to justify the hype.

Not saying he isn't a helluva prospect in fact I wish that occurred to me on my fantasy team.

And I don't like the Legend cards either, skews the game wildly in my opinion. I mean, the odds of all these Legends cards doing anything close to how they're playing currently in PT is ... well, unlikely at best I guess.

But it's fun to dream, right? Isn't that what prospect evaluators do when they make these top prospect lists? Figure out what they could be in the future? I think that's pretty fun, and why they're some of my favorite sets. Could they pan out IRL? Maybe, maybe not. But this is a good snapshot in time of what evaluators and fans think they could be, and in my opinion, that's why Future Legend cards exist.
