Tips to create a correct NHL expansion draft
Hello everyone, can someone help me, writing here the correct rules to create the NHL expansion draft like the Seattle Kraken does three years ago.
Thanks everyone |

Expansion drafts have changed rules with almost every draft. Using my favourite search engine I searched for "seattle nhl expansion draft rules" and found this from NHL.com which shows the rules for every expansion draft. This is something that should be pretty easy to look up yourself using the same (or a similar) query. There are lots of sites that covered the Vegas and Seattle expansion draft rules.

What do you mean by "something real"? You want the exact same rules as the Seattle draft? The link posted previously gives the following details:

You need to update the 'Max Skaters Protected' and 'Skater Draft Rounds' values
to equal the sum of the positional values. So in this case Max skaters Protected = 11 and Skater Draft Rounds = 31. |

Here are the rules I use when I expand the NHL: Current NHL teams may protect 7 forwards, 3 defensemen, and one goalie. Expansion teams will pick one player from each team and must pick at least 14 forwards, 9 defensemen, and 3 goalies. No Movement Clause (NMC) players must be protected. One change from the Seattle draft: players with 1 year of professional experience are automatically protected instead of 2 years to make up for there being no entry draft as in real life for the expansion teams. The latter stops you from having a totally barren farm system but doesn't let do the same to the other teams. Last edited by renojedi; Today at 12:03 PM. |
