So I got curious about just when I did switch to the method I currently use for statistical modifiers. And the answer I found in this thread was, well, I don't know.
I didn't find mention of it in any detail until a post from 04/05/2019 (the relevant section quoted above.)
Going back through (quickly) the entire thread, starting in OOTP 19, it is clear that 1965-1967 just used the statistical modifiers for those MLB seasons. And then in 1968 I intended to use 1973 (but that might have just been an attempt to jump past the pitching dominated years) but messed it up and ended up with the Year of the Pitcher anyway. I find a quick note saying that 1969 was using 1986 modifiers (just like 1975 is) but after that no more indicators until the quote above.
Guess I should have kept track of all of this better, but I also sort of like the mystery and pretending as much as possible that the WPK is a parallel baseball universe with no knowledge of the MLB we know and love.
