Walkers news: April 4 -- St. Louis 9, Kansas City 2

It took four games, but the defending MBL champion St. Louis River Walkers finally earned their first win of the season, downing the Kansas City Pit Masters 9-2 in the finale of their opening series in Kansas City.
Down 2-0, the Walkers got on the board in the top of the third on an Albert Almora ground out which scored Brock Holt, who had opened the inning with a double off K.C. starter Chase Anderson.
St. Louis took the lead an inning later, when Rhys Hoskins and Michael Conforto opened the inning with back-to-back triples. A Jin Hwan-Chang ground out later scored Conforto.

The Walkers later made it a blow out with six runs in the sixth.
Manny Pina plated two of the runs with a double. Albert Almora had a run-scoring single.

Andrew Benintendi did the rest with a three-run homer.
Kyle Hendricks pitched into the fifth, but had to come out when the Masters loaded the bases with one out.
Four relievers handled the rest of the load, not allowing a run.
