04/20/1980 - Youngblood Helps Mets Run Win Streak to 4, Kong Homers Twice in Vain

New York right fielder Joel Youngblood made his presence felt in the 10-4 Mets triumph over the Chicago Cubs. Youngblood was 2 for 2 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Pat Zachry earned the win to go to 2-1. He allowed 4 earned runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. New York, at 7-2, is off to a blistering start.

The Mets got a big at-bat from first baseman Mike Jorgensen. For the game, Jorgensen went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, while adding 4 RBI. In the top of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 2nd double of the season gave New York a 5-2 lead.
