The High School teams were taken mostly from
Bristolduke's American Feeder System Quickstart. I first selected states that were most representated in professional baseball, again from
baseball-reference. I also selected some states that I wanted and some to get players from all regions of the country.
In order to select the 10 teams from each state, I scoured the team lists and picked out the most unique names - there are a lot of teams called the Panthers, but not a whole lot called the Wooden Shoes.
I also designated each state as a particular U.S. region in order to get players only from those areas.
California: Far West Region - Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming
Florida: Southeast Region - Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia
Georgia: Southeast Region - Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia
Illinois: Great Lakes - Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin
New Mexico: Far West Region - Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming
