Barela is a young and promising featherweight that fights out of the Hideout Gym in New Mexico where he was a sparring partner for Danny Romero. Barela had a 92-10 amature record before turning pro at the age of 18. He has only fought 8 times in the last three years mainly due to bad luck with several no-shows and cancellations associated with his scheduled bouts. It is too early to tell how far he will go, but young Victor does appear to have better than average skills. He has 2 stoppage wins to-date, but has scored several knockdowns in his decision victories.
