Peterson was perfect through three.

Bosman had a no-hitter through three.

White led off the bottom of the fourth with a double to end Bosman's no-hitter. Murcer followed with a two-run homer. One hit later and Munson had a two-run homer. Clarke would score when Michael grounded into a double play.

In the bottom of the fifth, Murcer hit a solo home run.

Peterson had a perfect game through six.

Nelson singled with one out in the top of the seventh to end the perfect game bid. It extended Nelson's hit streak to 11 games. Nelson went on to score on a Mincher single. Billings added his own run-scoring single. Harrah then brought Mincher home with a single.

In the top of the eighth, Nelson hit a solo home run.

Paul Lindblad took the mound for the Rangers in the bottom of the eighth. Munson hit a three-run homer.

The Yankees pounded out 11 hits in the win.

Final score: New York 9 Texas 4.
