Starting to get some things figured out with the database files and how to find these players. The high school players who are too old to play in the next year come draft time are released by their teams if they don't sign. Those who are not yet too old will stay on their teams and then return to the draft the next year, which does not follow reality. If a high school player does not sign in the draft they would either have to go to college until they are a junior or 21 or go to a junior college.

In my case, the max high school age is 18. The players who do not sign in the draft and turn 19 before the season starts will be released in the offseason. The players who turn 19 after the season starts will be allowed to play another year.

I found 119 players coming out of high school that didn't sign in the draft but only manually moved the top 20. They were all placed in colleges that both needed players and are close to their hometown.
