The Canadiens continue out west with a visit to the other Rogers facility, the Rogers Arena in Vancouver. The Canucks are 5-3-1 going into the game.


The Canadiens open the scoring at 10:50 of the 1st when C James Courcy gets his 1st of the year. Montreal leads 1-0. Former Hab, LW Rick Burd gets his 2nd of the year at 13:41 to tie the score 1-1. The period ends tied 1-1 with the Canucks out shooting the Canadiens 12-8.


The 2nd period is much better at the start for Montreal, they get the 8 shots of the period and score on the last one to make it 2-1 for Montreal. LW Emile Boudreau gets his 3rd of the year unassisted at 7:44. The Canucks do get the 2-2 goal, C Paul Power gets his 3rd of the year at 16:51 to tie it. Montreal grabs the lead again at 18:00 of the 2nd, LW David Wass gets his 3rd of the year and its 3-2 Montreal. The Canadiens are now out shooting the Canucks 20-15 as they had 12 shots to Vancouver's 3.


The Canadiens extend the lead early in the 3rd when LD Vincent Lavoie gets his 1st of the year at 1:06. The Habs lead 4-2. The Habs continue to dominate the period and make it 5-2 at 16:24 when LD Anthony Reynolds gets his 1st of the season. The Canadiens add a 6th with RD Steven Thornton's 2nd of the year at 18:10. The final shots were 48-23 for Montreal as they had 28 shots to Vancouvers 8 in the 3rd for a 6-2 win. G Bill Wolfenbarger stopped 21 of 23 in the win. Montreal's RW Joey Mariani was the 1st star, he had 2 assists with a +2 rating in 19:36 of ice time. The 21 year old now has 5 goals and 11 points with 10 PIMs and a +3 rating in 12 games. Mariani has played in 153 career NHL games scoring 31 times and has 96 points.


Vegas Golden Knights C Richard Peters had a goal and an assist in a 2-2 tie with the Avalanche. The 35 year old now has 5 goals and 10 points with 4 PIMs and a +0 rating in 12 games. For his career, Peters has 95 goals and 222 points in 228 NHL games.
