Hitting Notes
  • Jody Carroll hit the 200th home run of his career July 27th in the win over Los Angeles.
  • Ken Baldridge went 8-13 on the week, with 4 RBI.
  • We are amazingly still looking for our first home run from the third base position this year. That is unbelievable.
  • Dan Musgrave has struck out 81 times in 430 plate appearances, most on the team. Swan has struck out 76 times, second most.
  • Jody Carroll has walked 86 times to lead the team. Swan is second with 59 bases on balls.
  • Interestingly, Dan Musgrave has been intentionally walked more than any other Mallard. Six times to be exact.
  • Kansas City is second to us in total runs scored as a team, with their 517.
  • Philadelphia has hit the most home runs as a team, with 110. We have 87 total.

Pitching Notes
  • Still no wins for Juan Leyva in July. He was in line for the win on July 25th, but Harold Patterson blew his first save opportunity with us.
  • 3 starters are in double figures for wins on the season - Carithers with 14, Leyva and Figiel with 12. Ruben Solis and Jose Amador both have 8, so knocking on the door.
  • Leon Williams has a 0.49 WHIP in 22.1 innings pitched to lead the team. Juan Leyva is 2nd at 0.97.
  • Williams also has the lowest FIP, at 1.94, followed by Leyva at 2.63 and Jimmy Riggs at 2.64.
  • Our 332 runs given up is the least by any team in TBL. The next closest teams are Baltimore and San Diego, each with 357 runs given up as a team.

Other Team News
  • Both Theodore Walden and Pedro Medina are pitching at AAA Porterville like they want to be back with the big club.

Next Week
