Hitting Notes
  • Richie Swan had 5 hits July 20th in the loss to the Mammoths.
  • Pitcher Jose Amador raised his batting average to .242 on the season. He has 1 home run and 4 RBI.
  • Dan Musgrave is going through a bit of a slump, and manager Charlie Pepe moved him from leadoff into the 8th spot. He moved Richie Swan into the leadoff spot.
  • Swan leads the team in Runs Scored with 84. Auld has 76 for second spot.

Pitching Notes
  • Juan Leyva does not have a win in the month of July yet. He is 0-2 despite the fact that his ERA has dropped from 1.95 at the beginning of July to 1.93 currently. June 30th was his last win. He is 12-5 on the season.
  • Patterson paid immediate dividends, getting 3 saves in his first week with the team.
  • Hal Holmes came off of the disabled list and was slotted back into the bullpen.
  • Harry Schubert also came off of the disabled list and began a rehab stint at AAA Porterville. He is returning from a herniated disc in his back.
  • Leon Williams has a 0.42 ERA in 21.1 innings pitched this year.

  • Cincinnati traded reliever Steve Frappier to the Pittsburgh Summits along with 18-year-old RHP Tom Alexander for 24-year-old minor league CFer Dave Richardson, 21-year-old minor league C Gil Bonds, and 23-year-old minor RHP Walt High.
