The New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers will face each other in the 1969 World Series Championship. For the Yankees, the last time they made to post season was in 1964 and their last World Series win was in 1962. What makes it interesting is the Yankees won 101 games and won over 100 games in both 1961 (109) and 1963 (104) yet the won it all during 1962 when they won 96 games in between.
