Well Well, the 1979 season has started off on the right foot for the Blue Jays. We are leading the AL East by 3 games over pesky Boston. More importantly we are in the top 1/3 of most pitching and hitting categories. Rick Sutcliffe SP, P Molitor SS, Hal McRae DH and our FA acquisition George Brett 3B are all off to stellar starts. Ed Whitson who might get a shot at this rotation this year has an ERA of 0.00 so far in only 6 IP in relief.
The 1979 draft isn't as great as the previous two seasons in terms of the number of superstars but it is deep in talent. Coming off a lack luster 1978 season, we get to draft #9. Who might be available? Got to love the drafts in leagues such as this one!
