At one time down 5-1, Springfield scored twice in the bottom of the ninth inning of St. Louis closer Edwin Diaz to squeak out a 7-6 win at Olympic Stadium (Montreal).
Trailing 6-5, the Prairie Fighters put four batters on in a row after Diaz got Eugenio Suarez to fly out to open the bottom of the ninth.
Daniel Becerra got it started with a single, and Odubel Herrera followed with another single.
Pinch-hitter Franmil Reyes tied it with a double.
Andrew Gimenez then ended it with a single on a 1-1 pitch, bringing in Herrera with the winning run.
It was the third blown save of the season for Diaz.
Wander Samuel Franco played a big role in the Springfield comeback.
His two-run homer in the fifth inning of River Walkers starting pitcher Derek Gordon made it 6-3.
Franco's two-run homer in the eighth off Nick Lodolo sliced it to 6-5.
Dinelson Lamet (5-7) worked the final 1.2 innings to earn the win.
Fighters starting pitcher Keegan Thompson lasted just 2.1 innings, giving up five runs on eight hits.
He was followed to the mound by Javier Assad, who allowed the final St. Louis run while working 1.1 innings.
Sean Doolittle (2.1 IP), Dalbert Siri (0.1), Bryan Clark (0.2), Mark McConnell (0.1) and Ryan Schaller (0.0) all combined to get the game to Lamet.
