Walkers news: August 11 -- St. Louis 5, Springfield 4

Record: 68-43, 1st, 9 GA Springfield
Larry Ernesto hit a two-out, solo homer off Dinelson Lamet in the top of the eighth inning to help carry St. Louis to a 5-4 win over Springfield at Olympic Stadium (Montreal).
An RBI single from Tanner Kohlhepp and a RBI off a sacrifice fly from Johan Camargo against Prairie Fighters starting pitcher Marcus Stroman in the third inning had put the River Walkers up 4-1.
But Springfield rallied to tie it against a struggling Steven Brault.
Wander Samuel Franco led off the bottom of the fifth with a single and scored on an Austin Hendrick double.
Nate Traylor hit a fly ball deep enough to move Hendricks to third.
Then on the first pitch to Victor Cartini, Hendrick stole home, one of the rarest plays in baseball.
An inning later, the Fighters tied it.
Andres Gimenez opened the inning with a single off reliever Nick Lodolo.
Gimenez stole second and advanced to third on catcher Jared Thomas' wild throw.
Hendrick drove in the tying run with a single.
Reliever Jake Brentz (7-0) handled the final two innings for St. Louis to earn the win.
Brault worked five innings, giving up three runs on nine hits. He also walked four.
Nick Lodolo handled the sixth and recorded the first out of the seventh.
Luis Palomo took care of the rest of the seventh inning.
