Walkers news: August 6 -- Kansas City 3, St. Louis 0

Record: 64-43, 1st, 7 GA Springfield
Johnny Kuhn Jr. held St. Louis scoreless into the seventh inning and with the help of a pair of relievers Kansas City completed its second consecutive shutout of the River Walkers, posting a 3-0 win at Busch Stadium (1997).
Kuhn (7-4), allowed just three hits while striking out four and walking a pair.
Trever Hildeneberger completed the seventh inning and also took care of the eighth.
Chaz Roe struck out two of three batters he faced in the ninth for his second save.
Walkers starter Aaron Civale was much better than he was in his first start since being landed in a deal just before the trade deadline -- he lasted just one inning in that one allowing six runs -- but it wasn't enough as his offense gave him no support.
The Pit Masters tallied a pair of runs in the fourth.
It all started with a two-out walk to Blaze Jordan, followed by a Danny Cushing single.
Jayson Gonzalez drove in the game's first run with a single.
Yordan Alvarez became the fourth consecutive Kansas City hitter to reach base when his single drove in Cushing.
The Masters added an insurance run in the top of the nitnh.
Cushing led off the inning and was hit by a Dan Jennings pitch.
A Jayson Gonzalez single moved Cushing to third.
Cushing scored on a John Curtiss wild pitch.
