In the top of the sixth, an RBI single by Kubiak made it a one-run game.

Horacio Pina took the mound for the Rangers in the bottom of the seventh.

Lloyd Allen took the mound for the Angels in the top of the eighth.

In the top of the ninth, with a runner on second and one out, Eddie Fisher took the mound for the Angels. Nelson hit a two-out RBI single to tie the game.

Paul Lindblad took the mound for the Rangers in the bottom of the ninth. With runners at the corners and two out, Spencer grounded right back to the pitcher and we headed into extra innings.

Tom Norton took the mound for the Angels in the top of the tenth.

In the bottom of the tenth, with a runner on first and one out, Jim Panther took the mound for the Rangers. Alomar was caught stealing second to end the inning.

In the top of the eleventh, Nelson put the Rangers in the lead with an RBI single. With runners at first and second, Dave Sells took the mound for the Angels and struck outWynn to retire the side.

Panther then set the Angels down in order in the bottom of the eleventh.

The two teams combined for 22 hits. The Angels also committed three errors.
