A dropped flyball led to three unearned runs for
Thornburg... and we never hit
Pomeranz hard.
News:
Royals SP
Drew Pomeranz(26, 4*) took advantage of an anemic offense in a 6-0 win over the
Brewers, pitching a 5-hitter with 1BB and 5K. The lefty came over from
Oakland in May and is now 3-5 4.02 73K in 14G for the year... and really dealing in
Kansas City.
Dodgers RF
Andre Ethier(33, 1*) enjoyed interleague play today with a 3-3 2R 3RBI BB 2HR day in a 6-3 win over the
Rangers. The veteran only made his firth start of the year, batting .206-2-6 in 23G/5GS.
The
Reds will be without LHCL
Aroldis Chapman(27, 4.5/5*) for the rest of 2015. The flamethrower is expected to miss 6-7 month with shoulder inflammation, ending a 4-0 17SV 3.34ERA 32G campaign.
In a blockbuster deal, the
Red Sox unloaded 3B
Pablo Sandoval(28, 3.5*, .289-11-40) and $3M of cash to
Minnesota. They got back a good haul in prospect CF
Max Kepler(22, 2* HS, 4.5* OSA, A) and prospect RF
Jose Bermudez(17, 2* HS, 1* OSA, R).
June 16th
The
Brewers made a couple of roster moves today. 1B/OF
Shane Peterson(27, 1/2*) and his .129-0-0 18G bat was shipped back to AAA Colorado Springs and the open roster spot was taken by IF
Cliff Pennington(31, 1.5* HS, 2* OSA, .194-4-14).
Pennington is a switch hitting infielder that they claimed off waivers from the
D'backs just today.
This makes
Luis Jimenez(.276-4-9 32G/11GS), who had some big hits lately, their new 1B for now.
