2025

Farel played the entire AAA season with the Pawtucket Red Sox, commuting from his home in Brookline to the home games in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. In 128 games, he hit .214 along with 4 home runs and 36 RBIs. Once again, his primary asset came in the form of a .679 OPS along with 98 walks. In the field, he was once again exceptional, putting up yet another award-winning performance with 153 putouts, 413 assists and 62 double plays for a 1.057 efficiency.

After winning the International League Championship with the Sox, Farel was called up for the tail end of the Major League season, hitting .212 in 23 games with 2 home runs and 10 RBIs.

It was a simple season for Farel- he hit what he hit and ruled the infield.
Meanwhile, his relationship with Nimya only deepened. They had moved in together at just the right time in their relationship. He spent his off-days exploring the botanical gardens or the forests of Massachusetts with her.

For the first time, he was able to spend an off-season with Nimya in a home that he wasn’t renting or staying as a guest in. He was able to watch the Boston winter come and go with the woman he loved in his arms.

2026

When the 2026 season rolled around and the Kansas City Royals paid a visit to Fenway on opening day, Farel was hitting lead-off in the majors. After going 1-for-4 with a home run, Farel went on to have a breakout season. Hitting .260 in 154 games, he firmly established himself an integral part of the Red Sox line-up. Along with the best batting average of his career, he sent 16 balls deep and stole 30 bases as well as drawing a league leading 118 walks. Overall he ended up with an OPS of .808 and a WAR of 6.8. His prowess and fondness for the fans also earned him his first all-star appearance.

In the field, he reigned at second base. 225 putouts, 375 assists, 84 double plays and only 5 errors easily secured him his first major league Gold Glove award. On top of that, Farel’s performance during the season earned him AL Rookie of the Year. Despite this, the Red Sox finished 83-79 as they fell two games short of the wild card berth and missed the playoffs for the 5th straight season.

After the season, Farel settled in for another Boston winter with Nimya. However, by the time preseason rolled around, something had changed. In mid-November, Farel asked Nimya to marry him. In line with his personality, the proposal was small, sweet and personal. Nimya happily accepted.

A slightly less notable offseason event was the signing of starting pitcher Dan Termini by the New York Yankees. Drafted in 2021, Termini had been a major leaguer since 2024. He started with Miami before being traded to Kansas City. This meant that Farel started taking at-bats against Termini. A rivalry began between the two after Farel took him deep during their meeting. Termini took it personally and things heated up. In another twist, Termini, who was not afraid of the spotlight, was soon found to be dating a young, ambitious nurse by the name of Jennifer Holland. And with a 5-year, $110,000,000 contract, it was clear that he had the support of the Yankees.

With the two now in the same division, 2027 was going to be very interesting.
