MBL news: Ann Arbor goes distance to stun Akron
Cameron Maybin had the game-winning single in the top of the 10th inning, as Ann Arbor downed Akron 5-4 to win the American League championship series.
With the win, Ann Arbor eliminated the Flying Feet who had posted the league's best record in the regular season of 107-55.
The Pack will face Des Moines, who defeated Madison in four games to win the NL championship series.
Catcher Johnathan Lucroy was named MVP of the series. He batted .353 over the five games with three homers and six RBIs.
All three of the homers came in a Game 4 victory.
