The Colt .45s are back in Houston for a seven game home stand, beginning with a three game series against the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds have won five of their last seven. The Reds lead the season series 3-0.

In the bottom of the third, Aspromonte put the Colt .45s on the board with an RBI single. Mejias followed with a single that loaded the bases with two out. Ranew was hit by a pitch to force Larker home. Amalfitano brought two home with a single. Lillis followed with a single to again load the bases with two out. Coming to bat for the second time in the inning, Taussig struck out to finally bring the third to an end.

After three: Houston 4 Cincinnati 0.

In the top of the fourth, Robinson hit a solo home run to put the Reds on the board.

In the bottom of the fifth, Ranew hit a run-scoring single.

After six: Houston 5 Cincinnati 1.

In the top of the seventh, Coleman got an RBI double. Kasko added an RBI single. Edwards followed with his own RBI single to make it a one run game. Adair tied it with an RBI double. With bases loaded and two out, Lynch grounded to short to retire the side.

Bill R Henry took the mound for the Reds in the bottom of the seventh. Pinch hitter Al Heist came through with a two out RBI single to put the Colt .45s back in the lead. Spangler followed with his own run-scoring single.

Jim Umbricht took the mound for the Colt .45s in the top of the eighth.

In the bottom of the eighth, with a runner on first and two out, Johnny Klippstein took the mound for the Reds.

Umbricht ended it with a perfect ninth.

The Colt .45s got 14 hits in the win.

Final score: Houston 7 Cincinnati 5.
