1950-1951 Season Review

The New York team has rebranded as the "Rangers" but will carry the "Americans" history.

St. Louis finished first overall and met Philadelphia in the Cup. Philly in only their 3rd year fell to the Eagles who won their 3rd straight cup.

Kluka (Toronto) and Andersen (Philly) tied for the goal lead with Kluka leading in points and winning his first MVP.

St. Louis's Toala won goalie of the year for the 3rd time.

VOTE Should the NHL expand to Cleveland?

Based on real events

Albert Sutphin of Cleveland is seeking to move his AHL Barons to the NHL through expansion. He is well loved by his players paying them salaries equivalent to the NHL. They have an extensive scouting network and player squad in place.

Cleveland is the largest Urban Area outside of California without a hockey team. They are larger than either Toronto or Montreal at over 1.3 Million people. They regularly sell out the 10,000 seat Cleveland Arena for AHL games. Cleveland has a long hockey history having fielded competitive "amateur" teams in the USAHA (the top US circuit) at the time the NHL was starting and were a founding member of the AHL.

Travel to California doesn't appear realistic yet so Cleveland is our best bet to expand in the near future.

Majority Vote decides. As Commissioner I am tiebreaker if necessary. If approved we will expand in 2 years (1952-1953).
