Walkers news: Spagnuolo to miss up to three months
The St. Louis River Walkers have announced that right-handed starting pitcher Brendan Spanguolo will miss up to three months with a strained hamstring.
The 28-year-old suffered the injury while pitching in the team's spring training finale on March 28, a 4-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers.
Slated to the be the Walkers No. 4 starter, Spagnuolo had struggled in the preseason and had gone 9-10 with a 3.96 ERA in 29 starts in 2023.
It is believed 29-year-old right-hander Jimmy Lambert will be the top candidate to fill Spagnuolo's spot in the rotation.
Pitching mostly in the final two months of the season, Lambert went 4-2 with a 4.94 in 11 starts for St. Louis in 2023.
