As the season heads into the final stretch run, Waffletown finds themselves with a tenuous grip on the second wild card position. After a solid month of June (17-10), the Syrups slipped back into a rather mediocre style of play in July (10-14) and just average August (13-13). They currently sit 7 games back of the division lead with a record of 70-66. With only 4 games remaining against the division leaders, they would rely on the help of others if they are going to overtake Kansas City to claim the division title.

Waffletown scouts continue to search independent leagues and send potential recruits to the Spile for management to assess and decide if they have a place with the team (i.e. - free packs from CM mode). While most recruits tend to only rank in the lower tier (Iron/Bronze) every blue moon they manage to find a higher ranked player. Mid morning on September 7th, a bus pulled up with 6 more recruits. The first 5 that stepped off were the typical group management has always seen and they quickly made their way to the reserve roster. The 6th player to emerge was one that has not been seen until today in Waffletown.

CL - David Robertson (2011) - 96

Diamond rated Robertson stepped off the bus, took one look around the facilities and said, "No way in hell I'm playing in this crap-hole." (sadly, Robertson doesn't fit the old timey theme; but his AH average price (over 12K) will hopefully bring in a nice chunk of funds for potential upgrades).
