MBL news: World Series Game 6 -- St. Louis 7, Dayton 1

Aaron Nola tossed seven shutout innings and three relievers finished it off, as the St. Louis River Walkers claimed the Midwest Baseball League World Series with a 7-1 win over the Dayton Fighter Pilots in Game 6.
Nola allowed just three hits while striking out five and walking three through his seven innings.

Dayton did get a run off Keone Kela in the top of the ninth inning, however by that point the Walkers led 7-0. Sean Doolittle came on to get Andrelton Simmons to ground out to end it.
Tucker Barnhart hit a solo homer off Dayton's Charlie Morton in the second inning to give St. Louis a 1-0 lead.
A dropped throw by Dayton first baseball Edwin Encanarcion in the third opened the door to a 2-0 Walkers' lead.
Michael Conforto's solo homer off Yusmerio Pettit in the seventh upped the advantage to 3-0.
A two-run homer from Andrew Benintendi off Jerad Eickhoff in the eighth, followed by a run-scoring double from Alex Bregman and an RBI by Tucker Barnhart stretched that advantage to 7-0.
