MBL news: World Series Game 4 -- Dayton 3, St. Louis 0
Dayton starting pitcher Trevor Cahill and five relievers combined on a five-hitter -- striking out 16 batters along the way -- as the Fighter Pilots pushed the Midwest Baseball League to a Game 5 with a 3-0 win.
Cahill was dominant in his six innings, allowing four hits while striking out 11 and walking none.
The relievers -- Mychal Givens, Kyle Barraclough, Hansel Robles, Ryan Pressley and Dovydas Neverauskas -- were just as relentless allowing just one baserunner while adding five more K's over the final three innings.
Neverauskas handled the entire ninth, earning his first save of the postseason.
Dayton got all three of its runs in the fourth inning off River Walkers starting pitcher Alex Cobb.Steven Souza Jr. drove in the first two with a bases-loaded double. James McCann handled the third, plating a runner from third with a ground out.
