2064 Season:

The MILWAUKEE BREWERS won their first ever World Series, defeating the St. Louis Cardinals in 6 games.

The ASHEVILLE TOURISTS were relegated to the Pit of Despair. They finished 53-109, finishing one game behind the Iowa Cubs for last place. After finishing in the bottom 3 three seasons in a row, Iowa is stockpiling high draft picks, and they could be a force to be reckoned with in the near future.

143 teams remain in Major League Baseball...

In Memoriam: Asheville Tourists

A- Colorado Rockies

A Teams Remaining: 22

Rockies Affiliates Remaining: 4/6

All Time Record: 3429-4163 (.452)

Best Season: 2031, 91-70, 38th place

Best Hitter: Mike Hopkins (2020-2029)

The Texan was drafted in the 14th round by Hickory in 2019, but he played just 41 games for the Crawdads before being traded across the state to Asheville. From 2021-2024, he hit at least 45 home runs in four consecutive seasons. His best season came in 2022, when he hit 57 home runs and was worth 7.8 WAR, leading the majors with 114 extra base hits. After becoming a free agent in 2029, Hopkins was unable to sign with a team, and he retired.

Best Pitcher: Jimmy Bachman (2055-2064)

After coming up as a reliever, Bachman quickly established himself as the team's ace. In 2062, he posted a 3.22 ERA and 6.7 WAR. Bachman is most notably known for his durability; he has not missed a start since becoming a starter in 2057. This June, Bachman was sent to Milwaukee, where he was a key part in the Brewers' World Series run. Unfortunately, his Tourists collapsed down the stretch without him.

Notes:

Gwinnett 2B Phil Dumont led the league with 10.7 WAR, winning his third consecutive MVP. He was worth 2.8 more wins than the second best player. He truly is the Mike Trout of the 2060s.

Kingsport RF Alfredo Fonseca led the league with a .360 batting average.

White Sox 1B Dusty Nielsen led the league with 56 home runs.

Vermont CF Josh Walewski led the league in strikeouts in his second consecutive season. These were the first two full seasons in his career. The 25-year-old has struck out 250 more times than Joe DiMaggio did in his entire career.

Wilmington RF Chris McGrew stole 70 bases.

Spokane SP Jorge Correa led the league with a 2.17 ERA.

Oklahoma City SP Nickolas Lewis won the Cy Young award after posting a 2.49 ERA and 292 strikeouts.

St. Lucie SP Steve Murray led the league with 333 strikeouts. It was the most strikeouts in a season since Clayton Kershaw struck out 343 batters in 2020, and it was Murray's third season in 4 years with at least 300 K's.

Burlington Royals closer Bob Beach saw his saves streak end on May 12th after 78 saves. Besides his ability to rack up saves, Beach is a run of the mill reliever, posting a 4.37 ERA and 1.28 WHIP.

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats were the best MiLB team, going 103-59 and finishing in 4th place.

The Seattle Mariners were the worst MLB team, going 76-86 and finishing in 89th place.
