The Toronto Maple Leafs and Washington Capitals got in contact with one another and banged out a deal that will give the Leafs another hard hitting future defenceman in the years to come.

The Leafs will be parting ways with speedster LD, 25, Viktor Loov and a 5th Round Pick in the the 2018 Draft. Loov has spent his time in the AHL, but is known for his hard working mindset, his durablity staying healthy and his speed skating abilities.

The Leafs will be picking up another tough guy to keep the front of the net clear for the goalies as they'll be getting RD, 23, Tyler Lewington. He's played in 31 games this season for the AHL team Hershey Bears and has collected 6 goals, 9 assists and 117 penalty minus and has 83 hits on the season so far.

The exchange wasn't too costly for the Leafs, as they're continuing their successful ways from last year. They've even pulled Tyler Bozak off the trade market.
