In the top of the first, Howard brought Nelson home with a sacrifice fly to put the Rangers on the board.

In the bottom of the second, the pitcher Brett gave the Brewers the lead with a two run triple and later scored on a wild pitch.

After three: Milwaukee 3 Texas 1.

In the top of the sixth, Porter committed a throwing error while Nelson was stealing third, allowing him to score.

After six: Milwaukee 3 Texas 2.

In the top of the seventh, the Rangers loaded the bases with nobody out. Nelson tied the game with an RBI single. Wynn grounded into the 4-2-3.

Paul Lindblad took the mound for the Rangers in the bottom of the seventh. Heise scored the go-ahead run when Theobald grounded to second.

Frank Linzy took the mound for the Brewers in the top of the eighth. The Rangers loaded the bases with one out. Pinch hitter Ted Ford gave the Rangers the lead with a two run single. Maddox added a run-scoring double. With runners on second and third and one out, Earl Stephenson took the mound for the Brewers and got out of the inning.

Horacio Pina took the mound for the Rangers in the bottom of the eighth. The Brewers loaded the bases with two out. Pinch hitter Brock Davis grounded to second to end the inning.

Jerry Bell took the mound for the Brewers in the top of the ninth. Biittner added to the Rangers lead with an RBI single.

Jim Panther took the mound for the Rangers in the bottom of the ninth. The Brewers got a lone baserunner but nothing more.

The Rangers got 13 hits in the victory.
