Yep, same thing
The Message comes up "Starting new season" and gets to 70% and just hangs. I've tried waiting - for hours, re-starting, play until next year (month, week), latest patch, etc. Nothing helps. Too bad. The game was pretty cool and I had developed a nice minor league team to feed my NHL team. Lots of work spent on that. Now I just don't have the energy to start it all over again.
