1952 Monthly Update: May - Team Batting and Pitching Stats
MLB Team Batting and Pitching Stats - June 2, 1952
The Yankees are solid offensively, but not great. They're currently 3rd in runs scored in the AL. They are leading in OPS at .773.
The Yankees pitching and defense has allowed the fewest runs in the AL at 127.
Looking at the NL rankings, I definitely think the Giants have a chance of challenging in the NL East more than they have so far. They are 2nd in runs scored and 1st in runs allowed. They did just lose Willie Mays, though, to military service on May 29th. We won't see him again until 1954.
