He has won the HR title 4 times (51-1955, 49-1962, 47-1964, 52-1965). He also won the SB title 4-times (1956-1959) and won a batting title in 1954 with a .345 average. Mays had 5 seasons with an OPS of over 1.000.

The Montreal Expos are struggling and this won't make things any easier as 1B Ron Fairly will be out for 5 weeks. The 32 year old is hitting .316 with 14 HRs and 54 RBIs in 103 games. Fairly had a career high with 152 hits in 1965 when he hit .274 with 9 HRs and 70 RBIs in 158 games for the Dodgers. Fairly was an All Star in 1970. Fairly has 3 World Series Rings, 1959, 1963 and 1965. Fairly struggled in 1968 and was finally traded to the Expos in an deal that saw Manny Mota and Maury Wills got to the Dodgers.

The New York Yankees will be with out SS Ron Hansen for 4 weeks. The 32 year old is hitting .195 with 2 HRs and 8 RBIs in 46 games. Hansen had a career high 150 hits in 1964 when he hit .261 with 20 HRs and 68 RBIs in 158 games for the White Sox. Hansen was the AL Rookie of the Year in 1960 and was an All Star that season as well. Hansen has suffered cronic back ailments throughout his career, he missed the entire 1957 season due to sciatica. Ellsworth had a career high for wins in 1963 when he was 22-10 with a 2.11 ERA in 37 starts for the Cubs. Ellsworth was an All Star in 1964. In 1966 Ellsworth led the league with 22 losses. Ellsworth went from a 5.09 ERA in 33 starts in 1962 to a 2.11 ERA in 37 starts in 1963. His 1966 Topps Baseball card had the wrong picture on it, it was Ken Hubbs a former and deceased player for the Cubs.
