The 1998 Season Replay with 1968 as Historical Year (as promised)

On another thread, I promised when I had a chance to play out the 1998 season using 1968 as the historical year.

I got it done. Wonderful results. Mark McGwire led the NL in home runs. With...33 !! Greg Vaughn tied him at 33 actually. Rafael Palmiero hit 32 to lead the AL. Bernie Williams won the AL batting title with a .309 average. Sean Casey hit .329 to lead the NL:

Some ERAs:

John Smoltz: 1.41
Pedro Martinez 1.54
Kevin Brown 1.77
Hideki Irabu (!!) 1.64
Andy Pettitte 1.73
Mike Hampton 1.84

RBI leaders: Todd Helton 112, Palmeiro 102 - those were the two league leaders.

Other individual stats: Sammy Sosa: .209 average, 24 HR, Ken Griffey Jr., .242 average, 24 homers. A-Rod, .281, 26 home runs.,

Randy Johnson, 15-12, 2.17 ERA, 250 K.

Barry Bonds, .284, 21 home runs.Mariano Rivera, 10-4, 2.04 ERA. Mike Piazza, .264, 21 HR.

The Yankees won 107 games.

Interesting results. No? I will run it for 1999 with '68 as the historical year, and for 2001 (Bonds' 73 homer year). Then see what happens with 1968 using 1998 as the historical year instead.
