My league, the Antiquity League, is a twenty-four-team league that has been together since 1927 (Fourteen years and counting!). We have an extremely solid core of owners drawn from a variety of professions and acquaintances. Until this season, we have had to replace only one owner in the last sixteen seasons and that was due to his death. We are NOT a fly-by-night group of 19-year olds, but instead we are mostly older professionals. We have owners in their late-20s, many owners in their 30s and 40s and three or so that are in their 50s and 60s. Our league forum is on Facebook but I also send out hand-made group emails after each sim.

The Antiquity League draws from the 28 major league teams in addition to many players that were career minor leaguers (using MLEs for minor leaguers), plus we add about 6 Japanese League players per season. From 1927 to 1957 we were a a DMB league, but we switched to OOTP for the 1958 season. We sim approximately thirty sim days per real-time week and complete approximately four seasons in a calendar year. The league uses three levels of minor leagues, coaches and financials, but not scouting (and only a modified doctors system). The league webpage can be found at The Antiquity League - Home.

Due to a missing owner and a retirement, we currently need TWO owners. The available franchises are:

Charlotte Knights (DH league) - Slowly improving since their expansion season of 1987, the Knights finally lost less than 100 games in 1992. Their major league team feature the league's 11th best player -- 26-year-old Albert Belle --, plus Tim Belcher, Dennis Martinez, Dave Nilsson, Fernando Vina, and Marquis Grissom. Their farm system is the fourth best in the game, featuring: Jason Giambi, Bobby Abreau, Shawn Green, Chad Curtis, Wilfredo Cordero, Brian Daubach, Hidecki Irabu, Curt Leskanic, Paul Shuey and Garret Stepenson. Charlotte will have the first pick in the 1993 draft, which will certainly be Alex Rodriguez.

Denver Rams (non-DH league) - After a run of eight playoff appearances in ten year from 1973-1982, Denver has struggled through a long bout of mediocrity. After refusing to tear things down, they have now lost 90+ games for three consecutive seasons. They are surely in the middle of a rebuilding stretch, but they still have a decent core to build around, including Ron Darling, Jason Grimsley, Ramon Marinez, Jack McDowell, Bob Ojeda, Darren Oliver, Scott Radinsky, Masato Yoshii, Superstar Alvin Davis, 24-year-old Jeff Kent, Tim Wallach, Dante Bichette, big bat Tuffy Rhodes, and a good platoon Japanese import Hitoshi Hatayama. Their farm system is the 16th best in the game, featuring: Jason Kendall, Melvin Mora, Preston Wilson, Scott Karl, Dave Mlicki, Carlos Reyes, Bill Pulsipher and a couple of good Japanese imports. They will have the second pick in the 1993 draft, which will probably be either Vlad Guerrero, David Ortiz, or Scott Rolen.

I take an inordinate amount of care on the Antiquity League and I think that you will be very pleased to be a member of the league.

Thanks for your time and consideration,
