Walkers news: April 28 -- Springfield 2, St. Louis 1

Record: 10-11, 4th, 3 GB Springfield and Quad City
James Paxton pitched seven scoreless innings to help Springfield to a 2-1 win over St. Louis at Busch Stadium (1997).
The Prairie Fighters got both their runs in the fourth inning off River Walkers ace Aaron Nola.
Max Schrock drew a lead-off walk. He stole second and moved to third on a wild pitch.
A one-out single from Ryan Mountcastle scored Schrock.

Mountcastle also stole second and found the plate on a two-out single by Trevor Larnach, which also included an error by right fielder Michael Conforto.
Paxton didn't see much trouble in the first six innings, and then got out of a jam in the seventh.
Andrew Benintendi led off with a double and moved to third on a Rhys Hoskins fly out.
He stayed at third, however, as Paxton struck out Conforto and then after walking Bo Bichette to put runners at the corners he got Nicky Delmonico to fly out keeping it 2-0.
St. Louis threatened again in the ninth when it scored its lone run.
A lead-off double by Ender Inciarte and one-out walks to Rhys Hoskins and Michael Conforto, all from Gerson Moreno, loaded the bases.
Tim Hill then issued the third walk of the inning, this one to Bichette, to make it 2-1.
Nicky Delmonico hit a ground ball to third, which resulted in Hoskins being retired at the plate.
Hill struck out Tucker Barnhart to end it.
The save was the first of the season for Hill.
Nola dropped his fourth decision against no wins. He allowed two runs on five hits in six innings.
