In the top of the first, the White Sox loaded the bases with one out without getting a hit. Leon beat out the 4-6-3 to score Kelly.

In the top of the third, Andrews had an RBI single. Johnstone tried to get his own RBI single but Leon was thrown out at home by Maddox when he tried to score from second.

In the bottom of the third, Nelson tried to tie the game with a double but he ended up with just one RBI as Harrah was thrown out at home while trying to score from first.

After three: Chicago 2 Texas 1.

Burroughs led off the bottom of the fourth with a game-tying home run.

In the top of the fifth, Melton put the White Sox back on top with a two run homer.

In the top of the sixth, with a runner on first and one out, Casey Cox took the mound for the Rangers.

In the bottom of the sixth, Burroughs hit another solo home run.

After six: Chicago 4 Texas 3.

In the top of the seventh, Johnstone hit an RBI single.

Horacio Pina took the mound for the Rangers in the top of the eighth.

With one out in the bottom of the eighth, Cy Acosta took the mound for the White Sox. With runners at first and second and one out, Terry Forster took the mound for the White Sox. And he got out of the inning still protecting a two run lead.

With a runner on first and one out in the top of the ninth, Paul Lindblad took the mound for the Rangers. Johnstone hit an RBI triple and scored on a pinch hit single by Walt Williams.

Vicente Romo took the mound for the White Sox in the bottom of the ninth.

The White Sox finished off the sweep as the two teams combined for 26 hits.

Final score: Chicago 7 Texas 3.
