The Cubs begin a four game series at home today against the Cincinnati Reds. The Cubs lead the season series 8-3.

The Cubs activated C Johnny Kling from the disabled list.

Rumors are circulating that Cleveland Naps 3B Bill Bradley has asked to be traded.

In the top of the first, the Reds loaded the bases with one out. Brown fanned Hinchman for the second out. The Reds would then score two on a Schlei single.

In the bottom of the first, Sheckard stole his 20th base of the season. Schulte then tied the game with a two-run homer.

In the bottom of the third, Evers scored the go-ahead run from third on a ground ball out to short by Sheckard. Schulte picked up his 10th triple of the season with two out. He then came home on a run-scoring single by Steinfeldt.

Leading off the bottom of the fourth, Slagle drew his 25th walk of the season. He would go on to score on a Kling ground ball out to third.

In the bottom of the sixth, Tinker knocked one in with a triple.

After six: Chicago 6 Cincinnati 2.

In the top of the seventh, an Odwell single scored one.

Schulte would end up a double short of hitting for the cycle.

Final score: Chicago 6 Cincinnati 3.
