New York Yankees C Thurmon Munson was named the AL Rookie of the Month. The 22 year old is hitting .352 with 4 HRs and 41 RBIs in 82 games this year. Munson hit a Grand Slam on August 29th, 1969 against the Royals this season. Munson hit .343 with 1 HR and 17 RBIs in September.

New York Mets 3B Wayne Garrett was named the NL Rookie of the Month. The 21 year old is hitting .225 with 8 HRs and 30 RBIs in 127 games. Garrett was named the MLB's #41 ranked prospect in April 1969. For the month, Garrett hit .312 with 3 HRs and 10 RBIs.
