Tommy John allowed 5 hits and struck out 5 in a complete game 8-1 win over the Twins. The 26 year old is now 15-3 with a 2.16 ERA in 22 starts. John was signed by the Cleveland Indians in June 1961 as an amateur free agent. He was traded to the White Sox in January 1965 along with
Tommie Agee in a 3 team deal that included as well the Kansas City Athletics.
Los Angeles Dodgers SP
Don Sutton allowed 4 hits and struck out 6 over 7.1 innings in a 5-0 win over the Astros. The 24 year old is now 12-4 with a 2.12 ERA in 24 starts. Sutton was signed as an amateur free agent in September 1964.
Pittsburgh Pirates LF
