I, too, prefer real photographs to the fictional ones. I like to generate my own fictional leagues using real players, e.g. my magnum opus, the Cup of Coffee league composed (initially) of every player from 1900 to roughly 2005 who played only one game in the majors (not after that as there is still a chance the player could get called up and play more). Where possible, I imported the picture shown on the player's Baseball Reference page. It seems that some players never lose their picture, some lose them temporarily but next time I play the game they are back, and some lose them permanently and I have to re-import which is dreary when you are talking about hundreds of players.
