Walkers news: May 26 -- St. Louis 4, Springfield 1

Record: 28-14, 1st, 3.5 GA Springfield
Argenis Batista allowed one run over eight innings and St. Louis downed Springfield 4-1 at Olympic Stadium (Montreal).
The win also featured the first triple play turned by the River Walkers since the formation of the franchise in 2018.
With runners at first and second in the bottom of the fourth inning, St. Louis pitcher Argenis Batista got Eric Hosmer to hit a foul ball to right field.
Both the runners drifted too far from their bases and were thrown out, the play going from right fielder Carlos Vidal to shortstop Jean Carmona to first baseman Romy Gonzalez.
Tied 1-1, St. Louis took the lead got good in the bottom of the fourth when Tanner Kohlhepp doubled off Prairie Fighters starting pitcher Steven Gingery and scored on a Carmona triple.
The Walkers would add additional runs in the eighth and ninth innings.
Bo Bichette led off the eighth with a single off reliever Mark McConnell.

Eventually moved to second and then third on a sacrifice bunt and single, he scored when Springfield catcher Andrew Noviello allowed a passed ball.
In the ninth, Vidal drew a lead-off walk from reliever Dinelson Lamet.
A wild pitch planted him on second.
Pinch-hitter Edmond Americaan singled to move him to third.
A single from Alek Thomas made it 4-1.
Batista was impressive, allowing just the one run on five hits. He struck out four and walked one.
Jake Brentz took care of the ninth for his eighth save.
