Atlanta Blue Sox? More like Blew Sox.

Good god, after three straight years of finishing first, then proceeding to get beaten by my Indianapolis Clubs in the final, 1979 really looked to be the year the Atlanta Blue Sox would finally take home their elusive second championship trophy. Their lineup was a veritable Murderers' Row, they had four 20-game winners* in their rotation...and won the league by thirty games.

*Fourth starter Hector Salazar got 13 of his 20 wins with Jacksonville before a late-season trade, but close enough.

The Clubs, meanwhile, barely beat Jacksonville for the wild card. Should be an easy road to the title, right? Nope.

I always just sim out the results of the Series, so no cheating here. And people thought the 1990s Braves were chokers. Poor Atlanta, can't even get the job done in fictional leagues! Four years in a row! Seems the Clubs must have their number.
