04/17/1985 - Mariners Fall to Kingman, Athletics
The Oakland Athletics topped the Seattle Mariners, 10-5, with first baseman Dave Kingman playing a big role. Kingman went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 6 runs and scored once for the Athletics in the win. Losses have been few and far between for the Mariners so far this season. Their record drops to 6-3.
Kingman had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the third inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Athletics went on to win.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Kingman told the Oakland Daily News. "It's as simple as that.
